What are the differences  between verbal and non-verbal communication? From high school to college, our teacher has been discussing this yet many are still confused between these two.  Are we doing a verbal communication now? or this is non-verbal since you cannot hear me? If you cannot answer this, then I think you need to continue reading this short explanation.

    What is Verbal Communication?

Verbal communication is the use of words to share information with other people. It can therefore include both spoken and written communication. However, many people use the term to describe only spoken communication.

That definition clearly tells us what Verbal communication is and the common mistake that we think about it.

VERBAL uses LANGUAGE.  Whether you talk or write (orally or written), it is still VERBAL COMMUNICATION.

    How about NON-VEBAL?

    What is Non-Verbal Communication?

Nonverbal communication is the transfer of information through the use of body language including eye contact, facial expressions, gestures and more.

To simply say this. Non-VERBAL means No LANGUAGE.  I mean, the LANGUAGE that uses letters, words, etc.

So anything that conveys meaning without the use of LANGUAGE (e.g English, Filipino, Japanese) is considered to be non-verbal communication.

Are you still confuse between VERBAL and NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION? Feel free to join the discussion below. You can also add your own explanations.
